Elections Have Consequences

Once again, we see here in Illinois that elections have consequences. For those who thought that electing Pat Quinn as governor was an innocuous enough thing to do, Mr. Quinn is going to be abolishing the death penalty in this state today. He's not signing a law to make it tougher to apply, he's not signing a law that raises the standards to apply it, he's BANNING it. As usual, another democrat recklessly banning something that is useful and necessary in some cases. It's a horrible thing to have to apply, but I contend that murderers ought to think about the horrible consequences of their action BEFORE they murder, and should not get away with murder by receiving lifetime room and board at taxpayer expense. So let's recap: Illinois raises taxes 66% on those who actually work, spends it on those who are too lazy to work or those who murder others, allows for the killing-on-demand of unborn babies, and ensures that those who commit murder need not fear capital punishment. What a great state we have.
